Paint for Ukraine

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Paint for Ukraine table at the Portals of Wellbeing event on Saturday. And to all the artists who designed a message of solidarity.

€160 was raised, and Teach Solais matched each euro as promised. Today a transfer of €338 was made to German NGO, Eine Welt e.V. Leipzig. This included a fee of €18 to ensure the money would be received as soon as possible.

We have chosen to send the money to Eine Welt e.V. Leipzig as Teach Solais's friend, Ukrainian citizen Maria is on its board.

Over the last few weeks, their impassioned efforts have seen the purchase and delivery of medicine and humanitarian aid. They have also transferred funds to their partner organisations in Ukraine. One example of this was providing financial assistance to a volunteer group in Lviv, which transformed their art studio into accommodation for internally displaced people, providing a place to sleep, eat, shower, and be warm. Their guests are primarily women and children, many with their pets.

We hope the money sent from Ballyjamesduff will help with their crucial work.
